Armin, your three posts this morning have fake bitrates. Example, Delbert Barker was in majority in .64kbps, not .flac., the two CowboyGirl in .128.

RépondreSupprimerI didn't know that there are "music-friends" who rip CDs with 64 kb and then change the bitrate to flac. But we learn each day more lol

RépondreSupprimerIt's not that Bear isn't wanted, it's that I wish the requests weren't just for Bear anymore. It is more interesting to discover publications that are less known and circulate less on the web. There are enough sites, blogs, forums... that offer the Bear Family collection that it is too easy to ask instead of searching a little.
And what disappoints me is that under various nicknames it is often the same person who makes the same requests on various forums at the same time.

Re-encoding is an ego thing. Some people think they will be considered poorly if they do not post a .flac or minimum 320.
They should trust their ears and not the weight of the files :)

RépondreSupprimerI doubt anyone would rip in a very low bitrate these days and if the ripper is not set up right it will be VBR and not constant bitrate or higher, How can you tell if a bitrate is fake or not as lame will only compress the silent parts of a recording but will return it to its former rip, if I ripped in 320 and compressed it to 128 would you say it was a fake 128 or a fake 320?
If you got really good ears and a good quality headset and a good clear recording you can spot the difference by the distance between each instrument, 320 will be near enough very good stereo and distinctive and 128 would still sound good but not as wide on the ears, most recordings of all downloads are re converted, when a good recording sounds like 2 channel or mono then its been re converted by everyone who's handled it, it's easy to alter the tag value and fool someone but not everyone is looking for good quality and as you say its's easier to ask than look so it's their own time they are wasting, we all want better recordings to update what we got.
