One of my greatest disappointments ... Only a handful of you took the time to participate at this operation since the last time, the last year... etc.
A little hope this time?

Hi Uncle Gil. I contributed last year. Seems I'm not allowed a second vote. I hope the petition gets more support this year. It would be a nice way for people to thank you for all the amazing music you share. Rockin' Archives is and always will be the greatest music blog on the planet. All best wishes, Jon Wilde, Hove, UK
Hi Uncle Gil,
I have voted. Thanks for the great music!

OK, I voted too.
Glad to help. I added a comment to. We have a mutual friend in Jerry Englereth, I have TWO actetates of his from WAY back that I think you might be interested in.
Thanks everybody for taking the time...
To @Duncanmusic : For sure, I'm interested by these TWO Jerry's acetates.
Here's the comments I left with my signature to the petition:
"That Al Dexter has not been inducted to the Country Music Hall of Fame is a blot on that shrine to country music and all involved in the selection process. Dexter was the first performer to use the term 'Honky-Tonk' to describe his music (it is likely the term itself originated with him. While I know there are those in the industry that would like to escape the image of honk-tonks for a more cosmopolitan image for country music, the role played historically by the country sub-genre is HUGE. Honky-tonk IS country to so many who embrace country music. All honky tonk performers who emerged from Texas and on to the national stage owe their success to Dexter. No Al Dexter, no George Jones - try to image country music without George Jones - inconceivable! Dexter's historical influence alone merits enshrinement in the hall, but his abilities as a singer and songwriter would merit his inclusion even without the historical influences. The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame has acknowledged Dexter's importance, it is time for the Hall of Fame to fall into step with them."

Beautifully put, Joe. And let's keep those votes coming as a small thank you to our favourite uncle for all his incredible work. Cheers, Jon, Hove, UK
I signed and left my insights on the injustice of Dexter's exclusion. I have posted those remarks and a link to the petition on numerous other music sites and blogs on the internet. Hopefully we will see some growing numbers as the comments I have had on other sites concur that Dexter's slight by the Hall is just plain WRONG!
