His Johnny Doe albums were released in the UK and fans spent ages trying to identify him. Some even thought it was Cash himself, moonlighting !

Hello. Many of these songs were actually recorded by Darryl Humphrey Sr. (There were actually at least 3 artist who recorded under the name Johnny Doe for the alshire label). Darryl Humphrey was the writer of Cab Drivn' Man & Devil Train and was the signer as well. (He released two of the cash clone ablums of the time- "Sings the hits of Johnny Cash" & "A Country Gospel Program"
